Over The Edge

SOVA's Over the Edge is less than a month away and we would love people to come and volunteer to cheer for our brave rappellers! We also still have many more spaces for anyone who is interested in rappelling 400 feet off the SunTrust building in Richmond. If you feel like you want to do this you  can reach Nicole Riedel by emailing her at nriedel@specialolympicsva.org or by going to http://overtheedgeva.com/. We really appreciate our brave souls who do this!!!

NEWS FROM THE 2015 SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD GAMES IN LOS ANGELES!!

Hopefully, each of you had an opportunity to catch part of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games extensive coverage on ESPN this past week. It was an exceptional week for the USA team and as our Virginia athletes (Team Virginia, we like to call them) make their way home today, I would like to share a couple of media stories on two notable Team Virginia athletes, Karen Dickerson (marathon runner) and John Fried (U.S. #1 tennis player).   Enjoy!

This is an exciting event in 2015 for the Special Olympics Virginia; making it the 15th Annual Buddy Walk in Richmond, VA. I will be participating this year for my second time. I absolutely love this event!!!! This helps us raise money for our Urban Programs hosted by Floyd Miller. Make sure you visit this page on FirstGiving today, if you are interested in making a difference.

If you want have questions,  I highly recommend in doing so by contacting Floyd Miller at                 fmiller@specialolympicsva.org. Your supporting a wonderful casue in helping us with this magnificent fundraiser. Every donation counts!!! I hope to see you there, if you choose to participate. We could also use many volunteers to encourage and help cheer for the participants in this walk from start to finish.

Special Olympics brings out the champion in all of us!
